My Skin Care Routine

My Current Skin Care Routine

So I finally took the time to post my skin care routine. Now as I stated in my favorites video I am pretty picky and I totally change out products all the time. So again I have combination skin, Im dry in the T-zone, and now I am slightly oily in my under eye area (Just Recently), and dry everywhere else. Since finding products that really work with my skin and I know more or less what to look for in products that will work for my skin needs. Im really obsessed with skincare and trying out products, a little too obsessed at times.

Step 1

Cleanse

The first step is probably the most satisfying, I just think of it as removing the day from my face, currently I go back and forth between First Aid Beauty and GlamGlow SuperCleanse. The reason I’m switching between these two is because in my opinion the First Aid Beauty Cleanser isn't strong enough and the GlamGlow SuperCleanser is too strong as a daily cleanser for my skin. And on that note, I’m currently looking to try out new cleansers. Lol. Now onto the products. The First Aid Beauty, Gently cleanses (Explains it) the skin, removing surfaces oils, makeup, dirt, and grime. It is infused with a powerful botanical antioxidant blend that works hard to block damaging free radicals. That is what is explained on Sephora’s website, again, Its a little too gentle for my liking. Overall it does the job and sometimes I appreciate the gentle cleanse it provides. GlamGlow SuperCleanse, the daily cleanser goes from mud to a foaming lather to dissolve oil and makeup, rinsing away pore-clogging debris and impurities. This cleanser is part of the Super family for problematic skin (I don't have problematic skin, explains that), this cleanser is based on the Supermud Clearing Treatment. That is from Sephora’s website, I really like this cleanser, but I don't have problematic skin which is why it is to strong for daily use, but I do love the results.

Step 2

Exfoliate (2-3 times a week, PM only)

This is probably one of my favorite steps. Currently I’m obsessed with this exfoliator, its the Dr. Brandt Skincare PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator. Its said to reduce the look of pores and mattifies shine. Minimize pores while smoothing and evening skin’s texture with this dual-action formula. All that was from the Sephora website as well. So I first tried out this exfoliator with a 500 point reward bundle that had a bunch of different products from the Dr. Brandt Skincare line. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin, pores appearance has gone down, Skin texture has become really smooth, and noticed overall a change in my skin conditions, Meaning I’ve noticed I’m becoming more oily and dry in some areas but its not significant to the point where Im mad about it.

Step 3*

Moisturize

This is the most relaxing step to me and the final step. Now I use a combination of moisturizers just because of my sensitive skin, I do have a skin condition that I will discuss in a later post, but keeping my skin moisturized is very important. So for AM routine I use the Dr. Brandt Skincare Save Our Skin Comfort Cream first, this comfort cream for sensitive complexions can be used as a daily solution for delicate skin and minor redness, I let this settle into the skin and then I layer the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion last, this moisturizer maintains optimal moisture balance for very dry skin or comfortable to oily skin in the T-zone, to mean this locks in moisture on my face to keep my face nice and hydrated throughout the day, PM routine I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask, this penetrating night mask helps skin drink deep to replenish lost moisture, building reserves for the next day, it soothes and nourishes to help skin stay hydrated all night long, allowing you to wake up to soft, dewy, glowing skin. and then I finally layer on the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I changed out the second moisturizer from my favorites video because like I said in the exfoliating portion I noticed my skin conditions have changed, so I needed something that fits my new needs and the Dramatically Different Moisturizer meets those needs.

*Step 3 (Sundays and Wednesdays Only)

Mask

This is step 3 only on Sundays to begin the week and Wednesday for a middle of the week deep clean, which then I moisturize after. The only mask I use is the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask, the mask acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers and the white china clay, in the mask, absorbs environmental toxins, and lecithin dissolves impurities. This mask has done wonders for my skin and I am truly pleased with how this mask cleans my skin. I don't really change out the mask in my routine, but I do want to add some, maybe a brightening or anti-aging, you can never really start too soon. Lol. I do here and there use sheet mask for extra boost of moisture when I have a skin freak out.

That concludes my skin care routine, I will update you guys on any changes or updates to my routine. If you want to a full video and walk through of my routine let me know. Im currently on a video block and need some ideas.

Thank you guys for reading, I hope you enjoy and until next time.

XOXO
